Day 3 – September 1, 2016

Not ready to call it a night yet, we stopped by Svartifoss for one last hike. The parking lot was PACKED, and it was much colder here. There is a welcome center where we studied the different trails, which gave approximate time frames, and grabbed some trail mix and water.

The first part of the hike was a man-made gravel trail, which was pretty steep. After that, it was mostly narrow dirt paths.

Along the way to Svartifoss, there were several other smaller waterfalls! img_5925   img_5929

Finally at the top we began the descent to the base of Svartifoss. This was the easiest part of the hike! The views (as one would expect) were spectacular!
